We are a group of co workers and retirees with a common interest in fishing. Our group consist of approx. 12 boat owners and 30 odd registered crew.
A group of Hackers Golf Club members arranged fishing outings, the first being April 1998 at Port Hacking. Several events were held as "Hackers Fishing Trips" until 2002 when the Hackers had a "change of guard" in their committee, and they no longer supported such events.
A meeting was held March 2003 where an elected committee was formed and the "Sydney Region Fishing/Boating" group was born.
We try to stage 4-6 outings throughout the year and fish Georges River/Botany Bay, Port Hacking and The Hawkesbury.
Crew members are subject to available boat spaces and as such are often found on the riverbank dreaming of owning a boat.
The groups interaction between work groups enhances cohesion in the work place.
Not withstanding the above BS.. we have a bloody good time.
